Salvator Mundi sells for $450 million at Christie's, shattering world record. The Who, What?

Leonardo da Vinci's Salvator Mundi (Saviour of the World) was bought for $450 million (£342 million) in New York on Wednesday evening, shattering the record for the most expensive artwork ever sold.

The painting, which was once part of Charles I's Royal collection and was sold for just £45 in the 1950s when it was mistaken for a copy, is the last remaining Leonardo in private hands.

It sold for a total amount, including fees paid by the winner to the auction house, of $450,312,500 million following 19 minutes of bidding at Christie's in New York - despite lingering questions by some experts over its authenticity and condition.

Easy Quick Delicious Cheaper Home Made Granola

I make granola once a week because it tastes great and I know what's in it.
I'm always horrified to see so much sugar in shop bought ones.

Give it a go..

Easy, Quick Delicious Home Made Granola

Tin of Al Alali oats 400g

1/2 cup of dried coconut (desiccated or sweetened up to you)

3 tsp of cinnamon powder

1/2 cup of sunflower seeds

1 cup chopped walnuts (On sale at Saveco kd 3.900 per kg buy and freeze)

1 cup of chopped hazlenuts
(or nuts of your choice ie. pecan, almond, more walnuts)

1/2 cup of honey

1/2 cup of oil (corn, sunflower or canola)

1 cup of dried cranberries (City Centre has them reasonably priced)
(or raisins, currants)

1/4 cup of water

Mix all together except for the dried cranberries (raisins, currants) as they will get hard if cooked too long. Place in large oven proof dish or tray, put in oven at 300F/170C for 10 mins. Take out and mix well, add dried cranberries return to oven for 10-15 mins. Mix well and let cool.

This makes a tasty snack with milk anytime of day or mix with yoghurt and leave in fridge overnight for yummy breakfast.

Keep in an airtight container.

I'm just drying out some apples in the oven which I will try with my yummy granola later.

LWDLIK - My daughter is off to see this next week and it looks aaaaahhmazing. We saw our first Cirque du Soleil, Quidam,  in Dubai many years ago and it was awesome - we were hooked. Then a few in Vegas. I'm so very delighted that Dubai has brought a permanent show to the region. I saw a review on BBC only yesterday about this incredible show that Dubai's Al Habtoor brothers commissioned Dragone (the director with Cirque Du Soleil) to put together, a show that depicts the birth and rise of Dubai in a purpose built 10 storey theatre. Another astounding, breathtaking first for Dubai.

When we went to see Quidam in Dubai many years ago my husband was asking me why we didn't book seats closer to the stage as there was a whole section empty, about 50 seats. I kept telling him that it was sold out and ours were the best I could find. A few minutes before the show started in comes Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and his entourage. The national anthem was played and we stood for this phenomenal ruler of Dubai and I shed tears of pride and joy for the Emiraties.
