Is Christmas a Bad Word in Kuwait?

That time of the year is almost upon us again the 'winter' wonderlands, 'annual' bazaars and 'seasonal' fayres have set their dates and locations - albeit incognito. All of these bazaars will sell mostly Christmas paraphernalia but none will mention it in their flyers. Santa will make an unannounced visit at a few of them, mince pies can be eaten, gifts can be bought, lovely carols sung by school children can be heard and sparkly flashing trees can be seen in abundance.

I understand the fear of upsetting the intolerant, approval stamp-wielding employee at the baladiya. But has anyone tried using the word Christmas lately?

Christmas is coming! There I've said the dreaded word. And I intend to enjoy it, snow or no snow. Who's selling snow globes?
