Brazil's Bin Laden-Themed Bar Complete with Lookalike Owner

A Bin Laden-themed bar is perhaps one of the more unusual sights England fans will see when they head to Sao Paolo for the World Cup game against Uruguay.

But the bizarre nightspot is sure to be a hit with tourists, thanks to eccentric owner Ceará Francisco Helder Braga Fernandes, who looks like the terrorist himself.

His idea for the bar came about after 9/11, when Bin Laden became the most wanted man in the world. Fernandes reportedly found himself in hot water after an alarmed customer reported that Bin Laden was hiding out in Brazil running a bar.

Kittens Tortured, Bones Broken Jutting Through Their Skin and Left to Die Near Hard Rock Cafe, Gulf Road

These kitties were brutally tortured yesterday near Hard Rock CafĂ© and had to be put to sleep. The vet said all the cat's legs were broken and their bones were coming out the skin. They were left in pools of blood to die and one lady found them and took them to the vet. This is inhumane. If this can be done to helpless animals, just think what they might do to another human being.

Another psychopath in the making.

Haute Heritage: Souad J. Al-Sabah's Caftan Chic @SaduHouse

Visit and view tomorrow afternoon at Sadu House.

The designer gets a lot of inspiration from her collection of vintage caftans that she’s been collecting for over ten years from bazaars and souks across the Middle East. Her designs often have an Old World feel to them, with vintage details such as Ottoman embroideries and faded satins, treated to look as if they’d emerged from a trunk in a pasha’s attic.

MP Nabeel Al Fadhel Recovering From Kidney Transplant

Yesterday, MP Nabeel Al Fadhel underwent a life-saving kidney transplant that was long overdue. His health has been failing for years now, not that anyone would have guessed by his feisty presence at parliament. Nabeel lost a kidney many years ago to cancer and had managed on one kidney for more than a decade. He has had several heart attacks, has 18 stents in his heart, numerous death threats and one memorable trashing of his beloved Porsche - thankfully he was not in it. But that does not stop this formidable force.

One of the main reasons that Nabeel waited so long was that he had real issues with taking anyone's kidney. A moral and ethical dilemma for him.

Finally, after much deliberation, his doctors and loved ones managed to convince him that it was absolutely necessary as he was living on borrowed time. After weeks on dialysis he agreed to the surgery. His youngest son, Ahmed, had been one of the first to step up as a potential donor and was a perfect match. What greater gift of love can a person give. Both are recovering well and we wish them a full, speedy return to good health.

And to the naysayers, whiners and Neanderthals out there - Watch out he's Back!

Does British Leadership Get More Embarassing Than This? PM Cameron Tries to Appoint Bankrupt Crony

Tony Caplin

A businessman appointed by the prime minister to head a quango managing public funds has resigned after reports that he had been declared bankrupt.

A Conservative spokesman said that Tony Caplin had resigned as chairman of the Public Works Loan Board (PWLB).

The organisation is responsible for multi-million pound loans to local councils for infrastructure projects.

The
Mail on Sunday reported that an investigation by Number 10 revealed Mr Caplin had been made bankrupt in 2012.

Whitehall rules require anyone serving on a public body who is declared bankrupt to inform the relevant minister immediately.

A Conservative Party spokesman said: "Tony Caplin has no role in the Conservative Party nor is he contributing to the manifesto.

"He was appointed to a number of public bodies by the previous government.

"He was re-appointed to the PWLB by the prime minister. He should have declared he was bankrupt.

"This has been pointed out to him and as a result he has resigned."

Senior Labour MP Margaret Hodge, who chairs the Commons Public Accounts Committee, told The Mail on Sunday: "This raises serious questions which should be investigated
."

The former Conservative Party chief operating officer has served on a number of public bodies, including the North West London Hospitals NHS Trust, where he was chairman until January last year.

He had been a PWLB commissioner for 10 years and was appointed chairman by Mr Cameron in July 2013.

EEK! Family's Car Catches Fire at Longleat Safari Park in the Lion Enclosure

A family were caught in a terrifying situation when they were forced to abandon their car in the lion enclosure at Longleat Safari Park after it caught fire. The vehicle overheated while travelling through the Wiltshire attraction on Friday afternoon at around 1pm.
A mother and her two children were rescued from the car by rangers just minutes before it burst into flames.
Kevin Ashley, from Longleat Safari Park, told the BBC: “The lions were cleared from the enclosure and the safari park was closed.”
The fire was extinguished quickly and no humans or animals were hurt, the park said.

Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa

My daughter was invited to stay in one of the lovely chalets over the spring break. If I hadn't had to go and drop her and have a sneaky little look around I'm not sure when I would have gotten around to going. I'd heard it was lovely but hadn't thought it would be as impressive as it is. My 10 year old says it was the best two days of her life, high praise indeed. She was at Bellagio last summer so she knows her hotels.

Bravo Jumeirah it really is quite breath taking.
