KUWAIT TIMES: Kuwaiti footballer Sameer Saied passed away yesterday after succumbing to injuries sustained in a accident late on Thursday. The former national team goalkeeper was jogging with a friend when he was run over by a speeding vehicle in Khairan, and was hospitalized in a critical condition with brain and liver hemorrhages and compound fractures at Adan Hospital. Saied – in his forties – was in a coma and doctors had described his condition as unstable. The driver of the speeding vehicle had turned himself in and remains in custody at Wafra police station.

LWDLIK - Just tragic. Let's hope this will highlight and bring change to the dangerous driving habits here.

  1. The driver should be hanged. If distributing drugs is punishable by death, so should killing someone with a car.

    1. Agree. But I, personally, think this guy should get a long jail sentence after all he did turn himself in and I heard he tried to help the poor victim. That area, it seems, has no or very poor lighting.

  2. My God! You know, if you're surrounded by tons of stupid drivers, it really doesn't matter how careful you are with your own driving. That's the sad reality. Imagine that.. He was just jogging, minding his own business, when he suddenly gets run over by a car. :(

    1. Very sad. I had a nutter overtake the car in front of me today that was already in the fast lane, by driving on the left side hard shoulder at 120KMPH.
