My 2 Cents Worth ;O)

Regarding -

"So we have a government that squabbles all day and proposes daft things, the national airline is on strike, MOH staff planning a sit-in on Tuesday, custom officials on strike causing food shortages & losses of up to 10 million KD to fruit and vegetable dealers, MOI staff threatening to strike Monday, the price of Zubaidi fish predicted to rise to KD 20 per kilo and a horrendous dust storm with another 168 dusty days to go."

Waaaaaahhhhh! :O(

Ok so....

My Solutions to these problems would be to:

Close parliament - the place functions much better without it.

Fire all the KAC staff sell it at a loss to anyone who'll buy it and re-hire all the workers with good records. (The government's been wanting to offload it for years now's a perfect opportunity). Plus if KAC are paid then the whole strike "trend" could spiral out of control.

Pay MOH, MOI and customs staff whatever they want, they deserve it.

Subsidise the price of Zubaidi.

Build a big bubble over the country that can be closed for dusty days. (ok so this one's a bit far-fetched but the others are do able).

Build fabulous schools and man them with the best teachers money can buy.

Build awe-inspiring hospitals filled with state-of-the-art equipment and fine doctors so the citizens know they are cared for.

Drop the arrogant attitude people, you really aren't all that..

Ease up on commerce and business laws or people will take their business and move.

Have respect for others. Mohammed PBUH respected all.

Sort out the Bedoon issue once and for all. They should, at the very least, have documentation allowing them to work, marry and register their kids.

If you loved this country you will not litter or drive like maniacs killing people.

True Kuwaitis that love this country are honest, hard working and have compassion and respect for others.

We need progress not regress...

  2. There are just sooooo many problems here and the country is regressing. It is so sad! There is so much potential. I don't know where to begin: Do you start with parenting classes for teenagers who don't know how to raise their babies into decent adults? Do you start a national identity program to "teach" people how to have pride in their own country?

100% agree on "close the parliament." ESPECIALLY with the one we have now. Who VOTED for those guys???? SHAME on them!

I agree with you on all of the above, up to and including the bubble! :) It IS feasible. I saw it on a mega engineering program on Discovery. but maybe they should tackle the other problems first.

AND re-stock the Gulf with zubaidi in order to avoid the over-fishing and shortages. They're going to be extinct someday.

  3. instead of making this a decent place to live with clean parks, strict rules on those insane drivers, and removing rubbish sitting at the front of almost every house in Kuwait they're too busy trying to enforce the hijab (not that that would EVER happen) and segregate girls and boys in schools, as if that's the answer to the problems of this country. SO SAD!!!!
