Gok Wan - My Super Hero

He's gay but almost everywoman's longed for male companion. He shops til you drop, has the most exquisite taste and can make high street clothes brands kick serious butt against the big designer names. And my buddies and I are absolutely addicted to his TV programme, Gok's Fashion Fix on OSN BBC Lifestyle (channel 53  Monday at 15.30 & 22.20, Saturday 22.50, Sunday 19.00). Trust me you'll be hooked after the first show.

  4. You are entitled to your opinion. It doesn't happen to be mine. I'm sure life would be much easy for gay people if they were straight, but they aren't. He's only on the TV in Kuwait but there are gay people in Kuwait whether you like it or not!
What is sick is being gay and not admiting it to your family and letting them marry you off to a poor unsuspecting girl who's life will be turned upside down by the lie and deceit.
I've heard of a few of those stories.

  5. Anonymous might view Gok in a different light if he/she saw Gok's previous series which was called How to look good naked. In this series he took women who had lost all their self confidence, self worth and nurtured them until they were strong enough to pose naked for a professional photographer. The whole program was filmed very discreetly, and it was amazing to watch these women return to the joyous women/wives and mothers that they once were. My favourite episode featured a lady who had lost a leg.Her marriage was shaky not because her husband wasnt supportive and loving but because she had lost all her confidence. Gok helped her find herself again with his kind words and caring support. He then helped her with his wonderful styling abilities to choose a wardrobe that worked for her.The transformation was amazing, she looked fabulous ,it was the look of joy on her husbands face that said it all though. Gok is a caring, kind man. I admire him and his talents. Lxx

  6. Dear Lxx, it is truly amazing what a new hair cut, a little make up and a more flattering cut of clothing can do to a woman's self-esteem. I usually end up in tears watching such life changing moments, on the TV, for those ladies who have become so horribly downtrodden by life and so very disillusioned with themselves.

As for the other topic of homosexuality; it will not just go away with prayers, exorcism, prison terms, beatings or death. It is tangible and present within all societies.
