A Yummy, SpongeBob Waffle Morning To You :O)

My latest purchase :O) Found it at True Value for KD 5 something and thought my precious would like it. It's a SpongeBob Waffle Maker. And she loves it.

Now as I'd never, ever made waffles before it was a bit adventurous but found a recipe and we got busy making us some.

Waffle Recipe

2 eggs, separated
2 tsp sugar
175 ml milk
150 ml water
1 tsp vanilla essence
225 g white flour
1 tsp baking powder
pinch of salt
2 tbs cornflour
125 g melted butter

Beat the yolks and sugar together. Then beat in the milk, water and vanilla. Gradually sift in the flour, salt and cornflour, beating constantly. Then beat in the melted butter. In a separate bowl beat the egg whites until stiff, fold whites into mixture. Set aside 10 mins.

Heat waffle iron, spoon a little (small soup ladle or approx 2-3 tbs) of the mixture on to the hot waffle iron, gently bring lid down but don't lock just let it sit on top of the waffle mixture. Takes about 5 mins and voila!

And one happy, smiling child.

I made lots and thought she could take them to school for her snack or I could freeze them and reheat later (will let you know how they taste).
