Wonderful Woolacombe Bay, North Devon, England.

Yesterday, 18 degrees, windy but sunny. You could be easily mistaken for thinking that Woolacombe is an Australian surfing destination with all the dudes and dudettes in wetsuits riding their boogie boards and surf boards; but it's England. A stunningly beautiful, long sandy beach and the cutest little surfer village.
A lovely day with family followed by wicked Devon ice cream, morris dancers and a fabulous sunset. Well worth a visit for sea lovers.

  2. Dear LWDLIK, I have today found your blog and the post about the Missoni Hotel. I have just booked a weekend there in October - you mention fabulous cocktails - the country is dry, is it not? If it's not, pls tell me, that would improve the weekend enormously!
Also - any recommendations on what to see? Where to shop/ eat?
    Thank you, I appreciate it!

  3. Hi EB

We're back thanx. Not a problem didn't feel a thing had much worse in the Bay of Biscay not in hurricane season. Saw some amazing storms in the distance whilst at sea. Hope you are well.

  4. Hi Ulrike, Dubai

No Missoni won't be serving any alcoholic cocktails so you can give your liver a detox...maybe. Sitting around that pool will make up for it.

    Hmmm.. a weekend in Kuwait.

Well Missoni's a good start (if that's where you're staying) as you are very local to Marina Mall, Salmiya gold souk, a walk from Scientific Center to Marina Mall (if it's not too hot).

If you are here for work in the city then maybe Sheraton would be better. But everything's approx 15-20 mins away so not too far.

Salhiya complex for coffee and oooing and ahhhing at some designer duds

Avenues Mall for your average huge mall.

360 Mall for some nice food and ooohing and ahhhing in a fabulously designed mall. (My fav)

As I've just got back from hols I'm a bit out of the loop. So will recommend a few sites to try for music, events, stuff.

Hope you have a great time. Let me know how you get on.
